Jenny Underhill

For over 30 years, Jenny’s extensive experience in commercial and business law has included acting as counsel to lenders with respect to both commercial financings and retail enforcement and collections; First Nations with respect to the creation of their business and economic development structures; general and limited partnerships in a variety of business sectors; large, closely held, professional and family owned corporations; co-operatives; and charitable foundations.

Jenny’s work has included:

  • Acting for chartered banks and private lenders in a variety of commercial financings for the construction, purchase or refinancing of commercial properties
  • Creating loan and security documents for unique lending arrangements on behalf of chartered banks and private lenders
  • Working with a chartered bank to centralize its residential foreclosure department and to provide advice on Saskatchewan practices and procedures
  • Working with First Nations to create a business structure that permits partnerships in various business sectors, creating enhanced employment opportunities for First Nations members
  • Acting for the purchaser or seller of businesses in various sectors including medical and dental practices, restaurants, hockey clubs, retirement homes, transportation, to name a few
  • Providing advice to businesses from inception throughout the life of the business, including reviewing and negotiating contracts, corporate reorganizations, preparing and negotiating shareholders’ agreements and general corporate governance matters
  • Acting for commercial and residential property owners on the sale, purchase or refinancing of real estate, including reviewing and advising on financing terms
  • Acting for commercial property owners and tenants to prepare or review commercial lease agreements
  • Working with business owners and their families to create estate and succession plans
  • Participating on conference panels and speaking on topics including the purchase and sale of dental practices, limited partnership structures, women in business, and the importance of creating a comprehensive estate plan for business owners
