Bio
As an Associate in the Saskatoon office, Sharmi maintains a practice with a focus on litigation. Prior to joining W Law, Sharmi completed her doctorate at the University of Saskatchewan in the area of judicial decision-making, criminal sentencing and the sentencing of Indigenous offenders. Her doctoral work was nominated for the Governor General’s Medal and the University of Saskatchewan’s Graduate Thesis Award.
Sharmi Jaggi has been invited to present her scholarship across Canada and around the world, including at the International Society of Public Law (ICON-S) Conference (Wellington, New Zealand & Victoria University of Wellington), the Law and Society Association Annual Conference (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and the International Public Policy Association (Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University).
Sharmi has also worked as a faculty and sessional lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan, where she has taught over fifteen courses in the areas of administrative law, international law, public law and the courts, public policy and public administration. Sharmi has extensive experience working for both the federal and provincial government as advisory counsel and senior policy analyst.
